Update: Coral Blue Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be available July 21
Samsung has just announced that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in Coral Blue will be available exclusively at Best Buy and Samsung.com beginning Friday, July 21. Both websites will offer unlocked models, while Best Buy will also offer Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint carrier-specific versions. If you can, we'd suggest going for the unlocked model — that way your Galaxy S8 doesn't come with any unnecessary carrier apps (or bloatware, as many people call it).
You might want to buy your new device from Best Buy. From July 21 to July 29 at the retailer, customers can receive up to $400 off the retail price of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus with a qualified purchase or activation. You'll want to visit the Best Buy link below for all the fine print.
Samsung and Best Buy will also offer official Coral Blue cases to match your brand new Coral Blue phone. Interested in this new color option? The product pages will be live at the links below on the July 21.
Original post (7/12): According to Droid Life, the Coral Blue Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus could be available exclusively from Best Buy US as early as tomorrow.
When Samsung first unveiled the Galaxy S8 duo back in April, the company announced a total of five color options: Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Orchid Grey, Maple Gold, and Coral Blue. While the first three have been available in the US since launch, there’s been no official word on if and when the other two colors would make their way stateside. Well, according to a trusted source of Droid Life, one of them could be available in the US as early as tomorrow.
The new color will debut as a Best Buy exclusive, most likely tomorrow, June 13.
Last month, Evan Blass claimed that the Coral Blue version of the Galaxy S8 duo would make its way to the US soon, without specifying when. Droid Life claims that it could be tomorrow: the online publication says that the new color will debut as a Best Buy exclusive, most likely tomorrow, June 13. This isn’t particularly surprising given that Best Buy has partnered with multiple smartphone manufacturers in the past to bring exclusive color variants. And yes, Coral Blue is the light blue paint job that was introduced with the Galaxy Note 7 last year and then later added to the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Droid Life adds that Best Buy could run another promo on Galaxy S8 devices later this month, which could bring down their prices by as much as $250: $150 discount and $100 trade-in deal of some sort, to be precise. If you are not in a hurry to get your hands on a Galaxy S8 phone, it might be worth waiting a few more weeks to see if this is indeed true.
At any rate, with Coral Blue added to the list of available colors for the Galaxy S8 duo, the only variant that’s missing will be Maple Gold. Samsung hasn’t specified whether it will come to the US, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did later down the road as Galaxy S8 sales subside.
