Cricket has a fantastic new way to save on its unlimited plan, and there’s only one string attached. If you pay for multiple months upfront rather than on a month-by-month basis, then the effective savings start to add up quickly. And the longer the period you prepay for, the more you’ll save. 

The unlimited plan is usually $55 per month. Here’s a breakdown of the savings you can make on the multi-month scheme:

• Three months of unlimited voice and data when you pay $45 in advance — an effective rate of $15 per month, totaling $120 in savings.
• 12 months of unlimited voice and data when you pay $276 in advance — an effective rate of $23 per month, totaling $384 in savings.

A quick bit of maths tells you that the three-month offer is better in terms of both price and short commitment, but that offer is only available for your first three months, and both require a new line. That means the 12-month deal saves you a lot more if you intend to keep your line for the full year.
