Castle of Illusion

Castle of Illusion is one of the most polished Disney games on mobile. It’s also a port of the classic SEGA Genesis game. You explore five worlds and defeat the evil minions of Mizrabel. The game contains action, adventure, and platformer elements like most classic Mickey Mouse games. You also get hidden challenges, a clean experience, and an auto-save system. We would’ve liked cloud saves and maybe slightly more polished controls. Those are mostly nitpicking, though. The only real problem is the age of the game. It hasn’t received an update since late 2017. We highly suggest opening the game and making sure it works before the refund period expires.
Disney Frozen Free Fall

Disney Frozen Free Fall is one of the most popular Disney games. It’s a match-three game with a Frozen theme. The game has a ton of levels and lets you unlock your favorite characters from the movies. It’s pretty typical for a match-three game. You match up the shapes, use special abilities to help yourself out, and try to make it all the way through. Some other features include cloud saving, a little plaza area to customize with collectibles, and seasonal game modes to help keep things fresh. It’s not amazing, but it should be fun for fans of simple puzzle games and Frozen.
Disney Magic Kingdoms

Disney Magic Kingdoms is a city builder simulator with a fun Disney spin. Players build their very own Disneyland or Disney World, basically. You can decorate the park how you want, build over 100 attractions, and even hire Disney characters to entertain the guests. The attractions are actual Disneyland and Disney World rides. There are also parades, over 150 characters, and over 1,000 quests. This is a massive game with a ton of content. Gameloft also does the non-Disney Ice Age Village and this game feels a lot like that one. In any case, it is a freemium game and some of the freemium elements are truly annoying as per the usual with Gameloft. Still, it’s a family friendly game (as long as you turn off in-app purchases) and the game is fun for at least a while.
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode

Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is a mobile fighter with some adventure and gacha elements. Players collect a team of Disney characters and use them to battle against evil. The game features 25 heroes, a bunch of missions and side quests, a story to play through, and character upgrades. It’s a fairly standard gacha battle game. You have very likely played games like this before. Thus, if you liked those other ones, you might like this one. People who don’t like this types of games aren’t going to change their mind for this one. It’s one of the weaker options on our top ten list, but it’s not terrible to play without spending money.
MARVEL games
Price: Free to play
Disney owns MARVEL and, thus, all of the MARVEL games on mobile. There aren’t a ton of them, but a few have some serious staying power. Some options include Future Fight, Contest of Champions, Realm of Champions, and Strike Force. They all have different features and mechanics, but they do let you play with MARVEL characters in the same universe, usually with a decent story. Play Disney Parks

Play Disney Parks is a unique game. You’re not supposed to play the game at home, but rather at a Disney park. It uses location technology to open up mini-games when you are near (or in line for) various attractions. The games include quizzes, puzzle games, and other small things to keep you and the kids occupied while you hang out. Some of the games are available at home as well in case you want some Disney fun without leaving the house.
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is one of the most popular Star Wars games on mobile right now. It plays a lot like Marvel Future Fight. That means it’s a mobile RPG with fighter and gacha mechanics. You collect various characters from the Star Wars universe, battle against bad guys, and engage in online PvP action. You level up characters, play daily and weekly challenges, and you can play in guilds as well. It’s another long grind type of game so those who dislike this one may want to try a different Star Wars game. Star Wars: Knights of the New Republic is a decent old game for RPG fans. Star Wars: Force Arena and Star Wars: Commander are the other popular freemium games right now.
Official Disney games

Disney develops a lot of its own games and there are several oldies on mobile that aren’t half bad. Some of the titles include Where’s My Water 1 and 2, Disney Dream Treats, Star Wars: Puzzle Droids, and over a dozen Appisode games of varying competence and quality (check the user reviews). Disney also publishes under the Disney Publishing Worldwide name on Google Play where they have an additional half a dozen games or so. The games vary in quality but some of them, like Where’s My Water and Disney Dream Treats, aren’t half bad. Plus, Disney Magic Timeline and similar games often have educational messages or encourage kids to have good habits like brushing their teeth. Hit the link to check out most of them!
Bonus: Emulators

We don’t normally condone emulator use unless it’s under specific circumstances. As it turns out, old console Disney games are perfect for emulators. There are a metric ton of out-of-print games that are no longer available on modern platforms. That includes old Aladdin and Lion King games as well as classics like Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse, a ton of Game Boy games, a few Little Mermaid games, The Jungle Book, and a ton of others. The 1990’s in particular were a great decade for Disney games. If you can find them on modern consoles, we highly recommend buying them and supporting development. However, if it’s lost in the annals of time, an emulator is about the only way to enjoy them again. Good luck!
