Golf is one of the most popular summer sports. You grab the clubs, hit the course, and have some fun. There are golf games on mobile to help pass the time during rainy days. They’re not as good as the real thing, and we won’t pretend they are. However, all of these games provide a decent way to pass the time and still get some golfing in. There aren’t many options, but only a few good ones. Here are the best golf games for Android.

We’d also like to give an honorable mention to Birdie Shot (Google Play). It’s relatively new, and we haven’t tested it fully, but it has potential.

The best golf games for Android

Birdie Crush: Fantasy Golf

Price: Free to play

Birdie Crush: Fantasy Golf is one of the newer golf games on this list. It boasts easy controls, fun gameplay, and many things to do. Each course requires a different set of tricks to master and various characters to play with. The game’s fundamentals are quite good despite the controls being rather simple. Of course, it’s not the most realistic game, but it’s good enough for some good arcade golf fun. It’s definitely one of the stronger options in the genre, and the graphics are pretty good too.

Desert Golf

Price: $1.99

Desert Golfing - best golf games for mobile

Desert Golfing is a perfectly acceptable arcade golf game. You play desert in the sand in some desert somewhere. The game features simple 8-bit graphics, simple controls, offline support, and more. You just hit a ball into a hole over and over again. It’s not a complicated game whatsoever. Those looking for deeper, larger golf games may need to look elsewhere. However, this one costs $1.99 and has no in-app purchases or advertising. It’s surprisingly cathartic to play.

Flick Golf Extreme

Price: Free / $2.99

Flick Golf Extreme is part of the Flick Golf series. It’s one of the most popular arcade golf games on Android. It plays much like the arcade golf games in bars and similar establishments. You flick your finger to hit the ball. The quickness of your flick determines the distance. The game features decent graphics, leaderboards, and unique maps. It has the occasional bug, but it rarely affects gameplay. It’s also fairly inexpensive.

Golf Battle

Price: Free to play

Golf Battle is an online putt-putt game. It features six versus six online PvP in a sort of race format. Players flick their balls up the course, and the first one to a hole wins. The game also features one vs one PvP, tons of unlockable content, and plenty of levels. It’s not golf in the traditional sense. There isn’t any agonizing over choosing clubs or observing wind speeds. However, the arcade action is entertaining. There is also a classic mode without the PvP if you want to play solo for a little while. It’s a free-to-play game like most golf games these days. However, this isn’t a game you take seriously, so you just enjoy the arcade golf fun until it’s not fun anymore and then quit.

Golf Clash

Price: Free to play

Golf Clash is one of the most popular golf games on Android. It also plays like an arcade game. You flick your finger to hit the ball. This one also has an aiming mechanic for improved control. Some other features include online PvP, weekly events, in-game chats, and more. There are even weather conditions that affect play. The online PvP has the occasional issue, but most of the game is fine. It’s a free-to-play game, so be prepared for that if you decide to try it.

Golf Master 3D

Price: Free to play

Golf Master 3D is a fairly decent free-to-play golf game. The game takes place almost entirely online against other players. You square off against opponents and play through real-time multiplayer. Some other game features include surprisingly decent graphics, power-ups to make things interesting, and periodic tournaments for various prizes. It’s a good time killer for golf fans. However, like all free-to-play games, there are some drawbacks to playing an online PvP game that is also free to play.

Mini Golf 3D Multiplayer Rival

Price: Free to play

Mini Golf 3D Multiplayer Rival is one of only a few decent mini-golf games. Even so, it’s only decent. There are a variety of courses to play through, along with online PvP, a chat function, challenges, and more. It’s a free-to-play game with an energy system. That’s kind of lame. However, you can get more energy by watching ad videos instead of paying real money. It’s not ideal, but it could be worse, too. There are some complaints about the game’s physics and controls; otherwise, it’s above average for mini-golf games. You can also play this one for free via Google Play Pass if you have it.

Mini GOLF Tour: Clash & Battle

Price: Free

Mini GOLF Tour: Clash & Battle offers a purely multiplayer mini-golf gaming experience, emphasizing precision and quickness from its players. The game features vivid and intricately designed courses with various classic mini-golf challenges. Players control their shots by pulling back on the ball and releasing it with the intended power, a mechanic that demands mastery as the ball quickly loses speed, making it easy to fall short. The game boasts an array of well-designed courses that require tactical thinking to master, while customization options enhance its replayability. Although challenging to master initially, Mini GOLF Tour: Clash & Battle becomes addictively engaging once players get accustomed to its mechanics.

PGA Tour Golf Shootout

Price: Free to play

PGA Tour Golf Shootout is a golf game with a lot going for it. It features online PvP modes as well as a single-player mode. You also get daily and weekly challenges, various unlockable equipment, and decent graphics. The controls are simple, and it’s definitely more of an arcade-style golf game rather than something deeper or different. We’re not fans of the upgrade system; it feels a little gritty. Still, it’s fun until the free-to-play elements creep in, but it’s still worth a play.

WGT Golf

Price: Free to play

WGT Golf Game is actually one of the better golf games we found. It features real brands, real courses, decent graphics, and fairly good controls and ball physics. There is also an online PvP mode, multiplayer leaderboards, tournaments, and more. There is one tournament where the winner wins a trip to the U.S. Open. It is a free-to-play game, meaning there are grindy game mechanics like equipment level-ups and the like. It’s definitely among the best free-to-play golf games on mobile.

There are several options, including an official PGA fantasy golf app. Where you go depends on what you like, really. You can usually join or create leagues and play against all kinds of people, and the apps usually let you check and manage your stuff. The apps are also usually free, although some may charge you to join a league. We recommend surfing around Google Play to see your options.
