Buying the right Michael Kors smartwatch for men

Most Michael Kors smartwatches are based on consistent hardware, giving each similar performance and feature sets. However, the latest addition, the Gen 6 Bradshaw, packs some promising potential. Later this year, Gen 6 devices are slated to update to Wear OS 3. This might put them ahead of the pack for shoppers who want the latest tech.

If sporting the absolute best tech isn’t a deal-breaker, the main decision you need to make is style and dial size. Do you want a more imposing statement piece or something seek and slim for the gym? Thanks to their chunky bands, the Bradshaw and Lexington series look and feel considerably larger than their 44mm faces suggest. On the other side of the spectrum, the MKGO features a design that looks decidedly slimmer and more casual. Read through our picks below to find the right fit for you.

Michael Kors Gen 6 Bradshaw: The best Michael Kors smartwatch for men

The Bradshaw Gen 6 is the latest smartwatch from Michael Kors and the only one eligible for an update to Wear OS 3 later this year. The family of devices comes in four different statement-sized styles, each with a 44mm case and 1.28-inch AMOLED touchscreen display.

Under the hood, the Bradshaw 6 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4100+ and features a variety of smartwatch and fitness tracking features. Users will find everything from built-in GPS and SpO2 monitoring to support for on-wrist calls when paired to a nearby smartphone. Like the previous generation, the Gen 6 also supports voice-activated Google Assistant and Google Pay. Between the flashy design and the boatload of features, these devices don’t come cheap. Michael Kors Gen 6 Bradshaw devices start at $350 but you can often find them on sale for less.

Michael Kors Lexington 2: The best Gen 5 Michael Kors smartwatch for men

The Lexington 2 is another commanding watch packing a 44mm diameter face and 12mm thick body. It can also be flavored in several metal finishes. A Gen 5 device, its technical abilities include a microphone and speaker to converse with Google Assistant, heart rate monitoring, VO2 max estimates, sleep tracking, and 5ATM water resistance. Custom modes also help eke out its battery’s longevity, while NFC comes standard for Google Pay support. You’ll also get 8GB of internal storage and untethered GPS support.

While an older device with slightly dated tech, the Lexington 2 remains a popular choice and a powerful watch. Unlike the Gen 6 Bradshaw, it won’t be updated to Wear OS 3. You can, however, often find a Lexington 2 on sale for around $300.

Michael Kors MKGO (Gen 4): A balance of style and practicality

The Michael Kors MKGO is another step down in terms of hardware as it’s built on Fossil’s Gen 4 platform. Nevertheless, it’s by far the best option for those seeking a balance between style, practicality, and comfort.

The MKGO trades flashy metals and stones for a simple silicone strap with a color-coded aluminum case. You also still get heart-rate monitoring and NFC for mobile payments, all at a lower price point.

Unfortunately, Michael Kors no longer sells this device which may make it a little tricky to find. If you can grab one from a third-party retailer at a fair price, it’s a nice sporty fashion smartwatch with good value. It can be particularly hard to track down in the United States if you don’t have one already.
