BLU has just announced seven new low-cost Android handsets at CES 2015

There are a few device manufacturers that really take the words ‘budget-friendly’ and run with it. BLU Products is one of those device makers, and they’ve basically built their entire business model around it. Not only do they (usually) produce quality devices, but they’re constantly churning them out. Just last week, the company announced three new affordable LTE devices. That’s nothing compared to today, though, as BLU has just announced seven new smartphones to be unveiled at CES 2015. While all of the devices are launching with Android 4.4 KitKat, BLU assures us that the devices will get an update to Lollipop in the coming months. There’s a lot to cover here, so let’s jump right in.

BLU Life One (2nd Generation) & Life One XL

The BLU Life One (2nd Gen. – pictured above) and Life One XL come toting 5.0-inch and 5.5-inch 720p displays, respectively. They both are running on a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB of RAM, and also come with only 8GB of on-board storage. To soften the blow, each device has a slot for microSD expansion up to 64GB. Both of these 4G-capable devices also have 13MP rear-facing cameras, 5MP front-facing cameras, and are both available in Sandstone Gray, Ceramic White, Blue and Gold. The Life One (2nd Gen.) has a 2420mAh battery, while the Life One XL comes with a 2820mAh battery. These devices will go on sale at the end of March on Amazon in dual-SIM unlocked variants for $179.00 and $199.00, respectively.

BLU vivo Air

Next we have the vivo Air, the thinnest of the bunch. Coming in at only 5.1mm and weighing sub 100g, this is one of the thinnest and lightest handsets available on the market. This one has all-around decent specifications, coming in with a 4.8-inch 720p screen, 8MP rear cam, 5MP front cam, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 2100mAh battery. The device will be available in mid-January in White-Gold or Black-Gun Metal variants, and will cost $199.00.

BLU Studio Energy

Next up is the Studio Energy, the beefiest out of all of the announced devices. It has a 5-inch 720p screen, a 8MP rear-facing shooter, 2MP front-facing shooter, a 5000mAh battery, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot with expansion up to 64GB. This is definitely a device you should consider if you’re looking for a low-cost option that will never run out of juice. The Studio Energy handset will be available in mid-January on Amazon in Ceramic White, Sandstone Gray, Blue and Gold, and will cost only $179.00.

BLU Studio X & Studio X Plus

If you’re looking to save some money on your next handset, take a look at the Studio X or Studio X Plus. These devices come with 5.0-inch and 5.5-inch 720p screens, respectively, and both have 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek 6582 processors, 8MP rear cams, 2Mp front cams, 1Gb of RAM and will be available in Black, White, Blue, Pink or Gold. The Studio X has a 2100mAh battery, and will launch in mid-January for $129.00. The Studio X Plus has a 2600mAh battery, and will be available at the same time for $149.00.

BLU Studio G

The BLU Studio G is the cheapest of the bunch, while also offering the lowest-end specs out of them all. It has a 5.0-inch screen with a 480 x 854 resolution, a 5MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, and only 4GB on on-board storage with microSD expansion up to 64GB. It also has a 2000mAh battery and will be available in Black, White, Blue, Pink or Gold. This device will also launch sometime in January on Amazon for only $89.00 off-contract.
