BLU launches the 5.5-inch VIVO 5R for just $200
BLU is back with another low cost smartphone for US consumers today. The new VIVO 5R is touted as a refresh to the company’s VIVO 5, but boasts improved hardware taken from the company’s VIVO XL handset.
Delving right on into the specifications reveals a 5.5-inch display with a 1080p resolution. There’s an octa-core MT6753 processor powering the handset, paired up with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot. While the 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores aren’t the most powerful on the market, this hardware setup should easily get you though the basics and a fair bit of multi-tasking.
The smartphone’s camera configuration is reasonably promising too. There’s a 13 megapixel camera on the back and an 8 megapixel front facing camera for higher resolution selfies. The phone also comes with a large 3,150mAh battery that should handily get you though the day. The dimensions are set at 154.5 x 75.6 x 8.3 mm.
The VIVO 5R comes with a few higher end features too. There’s a USB Type-C port on the bottom, a fingerprint scanner located on the back just below the camera, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box this time around.
The BLU vivo 5R is already available to pre-order in Gun Metal Grey or White-Gold from Amazon with a $199.99 price tag. The shipping date is scheduled for September 21st.
