How to change (or reset) your Amazon password
Managing all of your online passwords can be a hassle. It’s a good practice to write them down and keep them somewhere safe, but there may come a time when you can’t find a particular password. The same can be said for stale passwords, which you should get into the routine of changing for security reasons. Amazon gives you the option to change or reset your password whenever you want. Let’s review how to change or reset your password on Amazon.

Desktop
Go to Amazon in your browser, then visit the Your Account page by clicking the dropdown button at the top of the page.
Within the Your Account menu, click the Login & security button.
In Login & security, you can edit all of the different attributes of your account. Click Edit next to Password.
Enter your current password in the Current password field, then enter your new password twice.
Click Save changes when finished.
Android & iOS
Open the Amazon app on your mobile device, then tap the second (head and shoulders) tab at the bottom of the interface. Within the second tab, tap the Your Account button.
Under Account Settings, tap the Login & security button.
In Login & security, tap Edit next to Password.
In Change Password, enter your old password and your new password underneath. Tap Save changes when finished.
How to reset your Amazon password
It happens. You go to log in on Amazon and you can’t remember your password. You also haven’t saved it to your Google account, or a password manager.

Desktop
To reset your Amazon password on a computer, go to the Amazon website and hover your cursor over the dropdown at the top. Begin the login process by clicking the Sign in button.
Click the Need help? button underneath the Sign-In area.
Select Forgot Password from the options that appear below.
Enter the email or phone number associated with your account. In this case, we’re sending an email for Password assistance.
After requesting the email, you will be redirected to the Verification required page. You must open a new tab or window and go to your email (or open your phone for the code sent to your phone).
In your email, locate the Amazon password assistance email. Open it.
Find the One Time Password (OTP) in the email, then copy it to your clipboard.
Go back to the Amazon Verification required page and paste the OTP in the Enter OTP field. Click Continue.
Enter your new password twice, then click Save changes and sign in.
