Chromecast gets seven new apps, including Comedy Central and Nick
From humble beginnings, the Chromecast has grown into a formidable opponent for would-be competitor products due to an extremely aggressive price tag, tight integration with our mobile devices, and an ever-growing library of multimedia and gaming apps that support the platform.
Even though Google has since introduced Android TV as a more powerful alternative to the Chromecast, Mountain View continues to expand the level of app support for the tiny media streamer. With this in mind, we now get seven new officially supported apps: Comedy Central, Sesame Street Go, Nickelodeon, TuneIn, Epix, YuppTV and Encore Play.
While Comedy Central and Nickelodeon are probably the biggest hitters out of the above mentioned apps, it is great to see Google continuing to push Chromecast forward. As the media streaming market changes, are you still enthralled by Google’s Chrome-powered streamer or has your attention turned to another device like Fire TV, or Google’s own Android TV?
