(Update: another picture) Coral see: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 leaks in new video and render
Update, July 21: The leaks are turning into a steady flow of information about Samsung’s next Note. Here’s one of the clearest real world images of the Galaxy Note 7 that we’ve seen so far. This is the Black Onyx version of the device. Source: TechDroider, via SamMobile.
Original post, July 20: For those unaware, Samsung is gearing up for a major mobile milestone in just a few weeks: the Galaxy Note 7 is set to be the first in the hallowed phablet to introduce a dual curved edge display into the fold, as well as bump the numbering name to stop the confusion game.
Today a pair of new leaks have been procured, one a press render of the new Blue Coral color variant, and the other a hands on video with the product.
Earlier today Evan Blass tweeted the following:
Samsung’s Galaxy Note7 is a big bet that may pay off for the entire industry https://t.co/eIJk8V6biH pic.twitter.com/mLDhmEpvuB— Evan Blass (@evleaks) July 19, 2016
The pic shows off not only the new hue for the phablet but also (1) the dual curved edges, (2) the USB Type-C port, (3) the push-to-eject S-Pen, (4) part of the camera sensors that will be used for the iris scanner, (5) a peach-gold type frame, (6) the embedded fingerprint sensor, and (7) the same S-Pen themed background that appeared in Blass’ earlier leak:
One interesting tidbit to mull over is that the Coral Blue shade seen in today’s leak looks much more brilliant than the light-silver looking leak pictured above. This is probably due to the lighting involved, as Samsung’s Galaxy S and Note phones in the past year-or-so have made use of coloring such that the appearance can seemingly change shades.
Today’s other leak, the video below, comes courtesy of accessory maker Olixer, which was testing the tantalizing tech with a trio of of screen protectors. While the quality itself is decidedly not high resolution – disappointingly so – it nonetheless shows off just how seemingly bezel-less the phone is, as well as the sheer sheen and substance of the sliding sides:
Indeed the overall scene depicts a product not unlike what was leaked earlier:
The Galaxy Note 7 is set to make its official debut on August 2nd, which at this point is less than two weeks away, complete with its new TouchWiz Grace UX. While the specs are seemingly solidified, there are still some points to ponder, namely if there will be a “non-edge” variant, if the phone will in fact, have just 4GB of RAM, and how well the iris scanner will work in real life use. There are also rumors suggesting the device will literally go on sale the day it’s announced.
