Daydream View VR headset and Chromecast Ultra are now available in Google Store
The Daydream View VR headset and the Chromecast Ultra 4K streaming video dongle are both available to purchase from the Google Store site. However, buyers should not expect them to begin shipping for another two to three weeks, or sometime in early November.
Google officially revealed both of these hardware products in early October. The Daydream View is designed for Daydream-supported smartphones, which can be housed inside the $79 headset. At the moment, the only Daydream supported phones are Google’s own Pixel and Pixel XL, but more are expected in the coming months. Google showed off a number of different colors for the Daydream View at its press event but at the moment, just the gray colored version is on sale.
The $69 Chromecast Ultra is basically the same as the older versions of the streaming media dongle, except that it can handle 4K UHD video and HDR hardware, if you have a TV that supports those features, of course. The physical look is the same, but the Chromecast Ultra comes in a black color, and it has a Google “G” logo instead of the familiar Chrome logo.
