Daydream View VR can now show live NBA games
The recently launched Daydream View smartphone VR headset from Google just became more attractive for fans of pro basketball. NextVR has announced that it has expanded its coverage of live NBA games in virtual reality to include the DayDream View.
This feature was previously available for owners of the Samsung Gear VR headset in a test. Now both Gear VR and Daydream View owners will be able to watch one live NBA game per week, via NextVR, if they live in the US. This service requires viewers to sign up for the NBA’s League Pass subscription service, but be warned; it will cost a whopping $200 to do so. If you live in Canada, UK, Germany, and Australia, you will still be able to watch NBA on-demand and highlight videos in virtual reality, but not live games.
If that steep price doesn’t put you off, you can download the NextVR app for the DayDream View headset from Google Play, or grab the same app from the Oculus Store for the Gear VR. Do you think it’s worth $200 to get access to just one live NBA game per week as viewed in VR, or is that just too much for this service? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
