Deal of the Day: Save up to 25% on select PNY memory products
The Galaxy S9‘s 64 GB of native storage might be a healthy amount for some, but others will fill that up in no time. For those folks, Amazon’s Deal of the Day is worth a look, since many of PNY’s memory products are on sale.
Starting with the microSD cards, you can get them in 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB sizes for $19.74, $38, and $100, respectively. All three cards feature A1 (App 1) performance, which allows apps to run faster from the cards.
Keep in mind that the 256 GB microSD card features up to 100 MB/s read speed, while the two smaller sizes only go up to 85 MB/s read speed. Also, the 256 GB variant sports video speed class V30. This allows for recording of 4K Ultra HD footage, as well as video shot at 60 and 120 fps. The 64 and 128 GB cards, meanwhile, only support up to full HD video recording.
On the other hand, you might have a Chromebook that is desperate for some extra storage. Some Chromebooks feature microSD card slots, but others sport regular SD card slots. For those machines, PNY also has 32, 64, 128, 256, and 512 GB SD cards for sale.
We recommend the 256 GB SD card, since the amount of space you get for $88 makes it a great value. If that is too much for your wallet to handle, the 128 GB card goes for $42, while the 64 GB variant sits at $21.59. The 32 GB is the most affordable at $12, but you can get so much more if you have an extra Hamilton laying around.
Then again, the 512 GB card is available for $180 for those with deep pockets.
Alternatively, you can get a flash drive to carry around with you if you often use more than one computer. You can get three 32 GB USB 2.0 flash drives for $20, with prices going up to $120 for a 512 GB flash drive capable of up to 400 MB/s read speeds.
Finally, you can get a 120 GB SSD for $38. Even though it offers up to 512 MB/s read and 490 MB/s write speeds, the SSD is a worthwhile improvement over whatever mechanical hard drive you have in your laptop or computer. You can even get an external enclosure and use it as a portable SSD, if you are so inclined.
All of these deals are only available today, so grab them while you still can.
