The Dell UltraSharp 6K Monitor could rival LG and Apple's best
- Dell has announced the UltraSharp 6K Monitor at CES.
- The monitor delivers a larger screen size and higher resolution than LG and Apple’s equivalent displays.
- There’s no word on pricing just yet, but it’ll go on sale in H1 2023.
Dell already revealed a variety of gaming-focused laptops at CES 2023, but it turns out that the company had another announcement up its sleeve in the form of the UltraSharp 6K Monitor.
The manufacturer’s latest monitor seems to be a rival to LG’s UltraFine 5K Monitor and Apple’s 5K Studio Display, albeit with a larger, 31.5-inch size and 6K resolution (6,144 x 3,456). The new product also brings LG Display’s IPS Black technology, with Dell claiming the tech can deliver 41% deeper blacks and up to 20% better contrast.
Other notable display-related features include a 2,000:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR support.
What else are you getting?
The Dell UltraSharp 6K Monitor also brings a 4K HDR webcam, dual microphones, and two 14W speakers. You’ve got a healthy variety of ports and connections too, namely two Thunderbolt 4 ports (one offering 140W power delivery), three USB-C ports, five full-sized USB ports, an Ethernet connection, HDMI 2.1, and mini DisplayPort 2.1 connection.
Unfortunately, there’s no pricing for the monitor, with Dell only disclosing an H1 2023 launch window. Nevertheless, it’ll likely be in the same ballpark as the LG UltraFine’s $1,300 launch price and the Apple Studio Display’s $1,600 launch price.
