Disney Plus is planning a huge market expansion in 2022
- Disney Plus is planning a massive expansion across the globe.
- The platform will debut in more than 50 new markets in 2022.
- The likes of the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Turkey are included on the list.
This year, Disney Plus is expanding to more than 50 new markets, adding to its availability in the Americas, parts of Europe, and Asia Pacific.
In an announcement made on Wednesday (h/t Hollywood Reporter), the platform outlined a list of 42 countries and 11 territories, including regions in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Notably, the company had previously hinted at expansion plans to additional markets last year.
While that’s a healthy list of new territories for Disney Plus, the streaming firm failed to provide details on availability in each region. We’ll also have to wait for pricing clarification too. Expect the latter to differ from region to region.
