Dr. Mario World gets launch date: Pre-register via Google Play Store
Nintendo announced earlier this year that Dr. Mario World was coming to smartphones, taking the form of a free-to-play title on Android and iOS.
Now, the Japanese giant has revealed a July 10 2019 launch date for the puzzle title. The company made the announcement on Twitter, while also revealing a pre-registration link via the Google Play Store.
#DrMarioWorld launches for iOS and Android devices on 7/10! Follow the official @DrMarioWorld_EN account to stay up to date on all the latest news, and pre-register today!— Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) June 18, 2019
The Google Play Store listing gives us more Dr. Mario World details as well, confirming that a persistent internet connection is required, for one. That’s a little disappointing for people who either have limited data plans or are in a poor area of coverage. The store listing also adds that the game will have optional in-app purchases and may contain advertising.
Nintendo is touting the same fundamental puzzle gameplay as other Dr. Mario titles, as well as “hundreds of stages.” The game will also feature a versus mode, as well as the ability to send/receive stamina hearts.
