Crazy report reveals Exynos 2700 could outperform Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro

It’s no secret that the Exynos 2700 is coming and will power many phones in the upcoming Galaxy S27 series, at least in some regions. However, if you’re wondering whether an Exynos chipset in your next Galaxy flagship means poor gaming performance and thermal throttling, Samsung may have good news.

According to a report from South Korean outlet SEDaily, citing industry sources, the Exynos 2700 outperformed the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro in an in-house evaluation by Samsung. The report further claims that the Exynos chip beat Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip in multiple categories.

The Exynos 2700 reportedly scored 19% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 in Geekbench 6.5 multicore tests. It also beat the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro with a 9.5% higher score in the benchmark, per the report.

Apparently, Samsung’s upcoming chip performed 5% better in peak performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and 24% better in low-power testing, according to the report. Further, it seems Samsung has improved the power efficiency of its Exynos chips, resulting in the Exynos 2700 consuming around 12.7% less power than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

The report also states that Samsung’s chip outperformed Qualcomm’s Pro chip in AI computation. The Exynos 2700 was reportedly 18% faster than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro at generating responses and 5% faster at recognizing and processing user prompts.

Judging by the report, the Exynos 2700 could finally be the chip that makes Samsung’s in-house processors genuinely competitive with Qualcomm’s flagship offerings. However, Samsung has made similar claims about previous generations of Exynos chips, so we’d recommend taking these results with a whole bag of salt. Until the Exynos 2700 is tested in real-world devices against Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chips, these internal benchmarks shouldn’t be taken as proof of Snapdragon-beating performance. After all, we’ve seen the opposite play out year after year.

If the Exynos 2700 does indeed outperform the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro, it would be a major milestone in Samsung’s in-house chip development program. However, until we can test these processors ourselves, we’ll reserve our judgment.
