Fallout Shelter gets a Thanksgiving update; Bethesda Pinball announced
Bethesda Softworks has some Thanksgiving cheer to spread, among other things, in the latest update to its free-to-play sim game Fallout Shelter. The new 1.9 version is available to download now from the Google Play Store.
The biggest new feature is the ability for your post-apocalypse citizens to explore caves for the first time. Who knows what your Vault dwellers will find inside the dark and rocky underground settings, but we would bet it won’t be good. In addition, version 1.9 of the game includes more regular and weekly quests to select. Finally, since we are getting close to Thanksgiving, at least in the US, Fallout Shelter will provide some holiday-themed limited time quests, along with some specially themed room visuals, and Thanksgiving outfits for your citizens to wear. During Christmas and New Year’s Day, the game will provide similar holiday content.
In related news, Zen Studios announced a partnership with Bethesda Softworks that will result in the release of Bethesda Pinball. The mobile virtual pinball game will be released for Android on December 8, and will include three tables based on Bethesda game franchises. Yes, that does include Fallout, but there will also be tables based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Doom as well.
The Fallout table will include ways for fans to join Factions, raid Vaults and collect Bobbleheads, while the Skyrim table will offer fans of the fantasy RPG a way to go on side quests, craft weapons, find companions, buy and sell goods and much more (yes, this is more than just hitting flippers). Finally, the Doom table will give fans of the first person shooter a way to fight the demons on Mars in the UAC facility.
All of the tables in Bethesda Pinball feature ways to show off your scores with leaderboards, tracking, and social features. Which table will you play first?
