Far Cry comes to Android devices with full touchpad and gamepad support
Oct 16, 2026 — 1:31 PM ET

- First-person shooter Far Cry comes to Android devices with Sigma Touch port.
- With 64-bit and 32-bit ARM device support, it runs on even the oldest Android devices.
- Because it’s an unofficial port, you do have to own a copy of the game to use it.
Android gamers don’t just have to play games built especially for smartphones. Ports of popular PC and console games are really taking off lately, and Android users who are fans of the open-world first-person shooter Far Cry no longer have far to go to play the game, thanks to Open Touch Gaming’s latest Sigma Touch update that brings it right to their phones.
In Sigma Touch version 1.4.2, Open Touch Gaming has added Far Cry with the help of open-source port NearChuckle, which brought Far Cry to Linux. This new support joins titles like Quake 4, Aliens versus Predator (2000), Unreal Tournament 99, and Unreal 1998. It runs on 64-bit and 32-bit ARM devices, so you should be able to play on even your oldest Android device. The Far Cry port has full touch controls, full gamepad support, custom touch buttons that are bindable via the Controls menu, and a touch keyboard for console and text entry.

Players might not miss being on a bigger screen with all of the graphics settings they’re used to. A Widescreen Fix option offers a view with the proper proportions for scopes, binoculars, radar, and the heads-up display. There’s a Scope button that gives one-tap access to the scope and lets you zoom in or out by sliding it. Aim Assist is available for touchpad and gamepad play, with four settings: off, light, strong, and snap. And disabling the Bullet Decals option helps keep the frame rate up when firing.
The latest update to Sigma Touch also comes with improvements for Quake 4, which it started supporting last month. It includes fixes to shader effects, weapon depth, and brightness, as well as the addition of a Soft Shadows option with a quality setting and a Fill Light setting for a brighter look. Open Touch Gaming also optimized CPU usage. One of the biggest things players will notice is that bullet holes and scorch marks now appear on walls.
There are a few steps to take before you play any of the Sigma Touch ports though. Sigma Touch isn’t available in the Play Store, so you have to first download the APK file from Open Touch Gaming. And since the games are unofficial ports and do not contain any game data, you need to own legal copies of the games to import them.
Sigma Touch isn’t Open Source Gaming’s only project that brings favorite desktop games to Android devices. It also has Delta Touch for multiple Doom engine games, Quad Touch for seven Quake engine titles, Zeta Touch which includes a port of the Duke Nukem 3D engine, Alpha Touch for some nineties and early aughts first-person shooters, and arguably its most popular offering with Psi Touch that has a Star Wars trio.
