Here's when and where Google's Pixel phones will be sold in stores first
If you live in Sydney, Australia, you could be lucky enough to be one of the first in the world to go into a retail store and come out with one of Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. The Telstra store on George Street will have that honor of selling the Android 7.0 Nougat phones beginning at 8 a.m. local time on Thursday, October 20.
Yes, those phones have been available for pre-order from Google, Telstra and other online locations for a while. Indeed, some lucky Telstra buyers have already received their phones thanks to an early shipping mistake from the carrier. However, since pre-orders that are put in now for the Pixel could take weeks to ship, going into brick-and-mortar retail stores could be a faster way of getting the phones, at least for the first week.
More retailers will be selling the Google Pixel and Pixel XL on Thursday in their respective time zones, including Verizon Wireless in the US. If you haven’t put in your online pre-order, do you plan to walk into a store and get the phone the old-fashioned way?
