Google and Pokémon team up for a new special edition Fitbit Air

When the Google Fitbit Air launched, it came in two options: the standard model and the Stephen Curry special edition. Google has now expanded the line to three options by adding a new special edition band. In what feels like a no-brainer collaboration, Google is launching the Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep.

If you’re unfamiliar with Pokémon Sleep, it’s a gamified sleep tracking app where players can earn rewards for sleeping longer. As the name of this special edition band suggests, the design of this version of the Fitbit Air draws inspiration from said app. The strap comes in what Google calls a Sleepy Blue colorway, and it includes a silk print label that features a sleeping Pikachu and the Pokémon Sleep logo.

Just like the Stephen Curry model, the Pokémon Sleep special edition comes with all the benefits of the standard version. So you’ll be able to use it for all your fitness, rest, and recovery needs. The band also works with the Google Health app and Health Coach. It should also go without saying that you’ll be able to use this fitness tracker with the Pokémon Sleep app.

To connect the tracker with Pokémon Sleep, you’ll need to link your Google Health app to Health Connect or Apple Health by going into settings. After that, you’ll need to go into the Settings of the Pokémon Sleep app and pair it with your device. Once that’s done, the app will sync with Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS and pull your sleep duration stats to use in the game.

Pre-orders for the latest special edition Fitbit Air are starting today, with shipping to start on September 15. It will be available online and in-store at the Google Store and Target. You’ll be able to pick one up for $129.99, which is the same price as the Stephen Curry model.
