Fitbit adds another key sleep feature to the Sense and Versa 3
- Fitbit has begun the rollout for snore and noise detection on the Fitbit Sense and Versa 3.
- The feature will use the device’s microphone to track sound intensity and snoring.
- Snore & Noise Detect will only be available to Fitbit Premium members.
Fitbit is bringing yet another power metric to two of its devices. The Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 both add Snore & Noise Detect to their arsenal of features. Combined with Fitbit’s already impressive sleep tracking, this addition offers users more insight into what’s happening overnight.
What is Fitbit Snore & Noise Detect?
Now you can monitor the noise in your sleep environment. Fitbit’s Snore & Noise Detect feature uses the built-in microphones of the Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 to measure and collect information about your snoring (and other noises that occur while you sleep). Unfortunately however, you will need to have a Fitbit Premium subscription.
Throughout the night, your Fitbit will look for two markers. Sound intensity, or an analysis of how loud or quiet it is, and snoring events. In the morning, you can access this data in the Sleep section of the Fitbit app to review your overnight noises. This can help users determine patterns of disrupted sleep.

To enable the new sleep feature, open your Fitbit app and tap on the Sleep section. Read through and follow the onscreen prompts to learn more about the feature and enable it on your device. Then, simply wear your Fitbit Sense or Versa 3 to bed and check your results in the morning. The Fitbit app will display your snoring data along with your usual sleep data. Of course, this process will have some impact on battery life. The company recommends your device be charged at least 40% before going to bed.
To disable Snore & Noise Detect
If you’re shy about your snoring, don’t sweat it. You can turn the feature off at any time and delete any data collected so far.
- Open your Fitbit app and tap the Today tab. Scroll down to and tap Wear your Fitbit to bed.
- Tap the Settings gear icon in the top right corner.
- Tap the Detect Snoring toggle to disable the feature.
