This camera company is taking over Google Photos’ Print Store

In addition to being your media storage gallery, Google Photos also acts as a gateway to the tech giant’s Print Store. It lets you order things like photo prints, photo books, and canvas prints directly from the app and the web, making it a convenient platform to turn your digital memories into physical ones. Functionality-wise, nothing is changing here. But there’s still a notable change behind the scenes that you should know about.

The Google Photos Print Store is now being operated by Fujifilm, the company best known for making cameras.

The company has launched the Fujifilm for Google Photos Print Store after assuming leadership and responsibility for the existing platform

The Tokyo, Japan-based company added that it will also now lead operational and customer support roles for the storefront, all while remaining in close partnership with Google and Google Photos. The overall experience should feel familiar if you’ve already used the store in the past.

Of course, Google Photos’ existing functionality will continue surfacing relevant images and suggest personalized print opportunities. Users can expect an expanded range of print formats, frames, decor, and gift items. US-based users will also be able to pick up select print items at major retail locations.

Fujifilm said it plans to roll out new features and a more robust user experience in the future.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Fujifilm, providing Google Photos users with a seamless printing experience,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president of Google Photos. “The new storefront will offer even more ways for people to print their photos so they can easily celebrate and save their meaningful moments.”

The Fujifilm integration began rolling out to Google Photos users in the US at the end of August. The integration should now cover all users in the US.
