Galaxy Buds On leak gives us a 360-degree look at Samsung's upcoming earbuds

Samsung is getting ready to expand its audio device lineup with the addition of clip-on earbuds. Known as the Galaxy Buds On, the company finally confirmed the existence of the hardware earlier this month. The earbuds are scheduled to launch in South Korea on October 27. It’s still a mystery when they’ll be released in the US, but some retail pages may have given us a hint. A separate leak also provides our best look yet at the Galaxy Buds On.

Starting with the release date, the folks over at SammyGuru came across several European retail pages listing the earbuds. While we have already seen renders, thanks to Samsung’s announcement, these listings include a couple of other interesting details. The pages all reportedly point to different dates, but together they suggest that a release could happen in the first half of December. It’s possible that a release in the US could happen around the same time.

Samsung’s announcement also revealed that the Galaxy Buds On will be sold with a 299,000 won (~$220) price tag attached. The Korean tech giant never mentioned what pricing would be in the US. While we still don’t have those details, Swiss stores reportedly have them listed at CHF 179 (~$217) and CHF 199 (~$241). It’s believed that the lower charge could be a discount, and the other price might be the recommended retail price.

Last, but not least, The Cipher Project has dug up new animations for the Galaxy Buds On. The animations deliver a 360-degree view of the earbuds and their charging case. Samsung appears to have used a rounded, cube-like design for the case, similar to the one it used for the Galaxy Buds 4 series. The earbuds sit inside with the curved band, which allows them to wrap around the ear, visible through the smoky, transparent lid.

On top of the Galaxy Buds On, leaks have revealed that Samsung is working on other new form factors. One such device sports an ear-hook design and is internally referred to as the Galaxy T1 or Buds Canal 5. Another would be Samsung’s first over-ear headphones, which could be called the Galaxy Studio.
