Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 specs leak: A few welcome upgrades, but is it enough?
- Specs for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 have purportedly leaked online.
- The clamshell foldable is expected to offer a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and a bigger battery.
- Other apparent tweaks include a bigger external screen and faster wired charging.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 is reportedly responsible for most of the company’s foldable phone sales, owing to that $999 price tag and pocket-friendly clamshell form factor compared to the Z Fold 3. The company obviously isn’t stopping here, as it’s undoubtedly working on new foldables.
We’ve already seen a few Galaxy Z Flip 4 leaks appear online, covering renders and a few specs. Now, noted tipster Yogesh Brar has posted all the notable Galaxy Z Flip 4 specs online via Twitter.
Much like Brar’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 specs leak earlier this week, the smaller Samsung foldable will purportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Qualcomm’s refreshed processor offers a claimed 30% efficiency improvement and 20% better performance-per-watt gains over the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. This means we might be getting notably better battery life out of the Z Flip 4 compared to using the standard version of the chipset.
Speaking of the battery, the tipster claims the new phone will have a 3,700mAh battery, 25W wired charging, and 10W wireless speeds. This makes for a 400mAh bigger capacity and faster wired charging on paper than the previous flip phone. The 3,700mAh capacity has been mentioned in a leak before, so it certainly seems like a bigger battery is locked in for the new phone.
What do you want most from the Z Flip 4?
Otherwise, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is seemingly identical to the Z Flip 3 in other areas. This includes offering 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, a dual 12MP rear camera system (main and ultrawide), and a 10MP selfie camera on the internal display.
Samsung’s clamshell device is also tipped to arrive with a 6.7-inch FHD+ foldable OLED panel (120Hz) and a slightly larger external display (2.1-inches versus 1.9-inches on the old phone).
