YouTube Music is now available on Garmin's latest Fenix watches

Garmin’s latest Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro fitness smartwatches launched in August. The watches have a lot to offer, including three different size options, new stamina tracking features, and, in the case of the 9 Pro, a titanium case and OLED display. They hit the market with a strange omission, however: YouTube Music hasn’t been compatible with the Fenix 9 series, despite being available on Garmin’s older watches. It looks like that’s finally changed.

As spotted by Gadgets & Wearables, Reddit user gloomwind shared that the YouTube Music app is now compatible with the Garmin Fenix 9 and 9 Pro. The app lets you download music to your watch, which you can pair with Bluetooth earbuds to listen on the go.

The Garmin YouTube Music app can’t stream music, instead downloading songs to your watch’s internal storage. Using the app requires a paid YouTube subscription. Sure enough, the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro are now listed among the compatible devices on YouTube Music’s Garmin Connect IQ app store listing. One commenter on gloomwind’s Reddit post said the app wasn’t available in Germany as of yesterday, so it’s possible availability varies by region.

Google first released a YouTube Music app for Garmin watches in 2024. The app has been available on a range of Garmin wearables since, but the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro have been excluded until recently.

With a bright OLED display, titanium case, and optional solar charging, the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro is one of our favorite gadgets of 2026. For YouTube Music subscribers, the ability to download music and podcasts to the watch makes it all the better.
