TL;DR
  • Garmin may have unintentionally confirmed the existence of the Marq Gen 3.
  • References to the smartwatch were spotted on several of the company’s Spanish-language support pages.

When it comes to keeping unannounced products under wraps, Garmin is not exactly the best. Earlier this year, Garmin accidentally tipped the internet off to the existence of the Cirqa Smart Band. The screenless WHOOP and Google Fitbit Air competitor went on to leak multiple times before it ultimately launched in July. It seems similar events are playing out today, as Garmin may have unintentionally revealed the existence of yet another unannounced product.

Garmin appears to be working on a follow-up to the Marq Gen 2, which launched back in 2022. Discovered by the folks over at Garmin Rumors, there are references to the Marq Gen 3 on Garmin’s Spanish-language support pages. Specifically, the references were spotted on the support sites for Spain, Chile, and Argentina.

The screenshot above was taken from a page that lists which devices are compatible with the Garmin Explore app. In the Marq Watches section, Garmin lists the Gen 3 series along with the current series and the original. It’s reported that mentions of the Marq Gen 3 also appear in two other articles, one covering accessory connections and the other explaining how to add weather locations to the company’s watches. At the moment, there are no references to the Marq Gen 3 on any of the English support pages.

Seeing as the Marq Gen 2 has been around for four years, it’s getting a little long in the tooth. So it would make sense for Garmin to release a new generation of the luxury smartwatch. The brand has yet to announce the Marq Gen 3, so it’s unknown when the device could launch.
