- Garmin has officially launched the MARQ 3 series.
- The new lineup of luxury smartwatches includes six models: the MARQ Adventurer, MARQ Athlete, MARQ Aviator, MARQ Commander, MARQ Diver, and MARQ Golfer.
- The MARQ 3 family starts at a retail price of $2,500.
Garmin has been working on a follow-up to the MARQ Gen 2. While a leak spoiled the surprise, that didn’t stop the company from sneaking up on us with the release. Only a day after said leak emerged online, the third generation of the MARQ series is now rolling out.
Garmin has announced the rollout of the MARQ 3 series, the company’s luxury line of smartwatches. Included in this family are six models: the MARQ Adventurer, MARQ Athlete, MARQ Aviator, MARQ Commander, MARQ Diver, and MARQ Golfer.
The new collection offers fresh navigation features, such as worldwide preloaded mapping and address search. You’ll also find embedded inReach connectivity for easier communication on the go, a built-in speaker and mic, an LED flashlight, and the typical health and wellness features (e.g., stress, sleep, Pulse Ox, HRV, and other insights).
Each model has its own unique flavor, including custom watch straps and bracelets, ceramic bezels with inlaid designs, and customizable watch faces:
- MARQ Adventurer: Features a full-grain Italian leather strap and leakproof buttons. Multi-layered mapping and 360-degree compass markings are integrated into the bezel inlay. And the Preloaded ClimbPro feature provides real-time information on current and upcoming climbs while hiking, riding, or running.
- MARQ Athlete: Comes with a silicone rubber strap and ceramic bezel with a VO2 max indicator. This model offers enhanced stamina metrics and a collection of fitness features made for athletes.
- MARQ Aviator: This model comes with a padded calfskin leather bracelet and a polished black ceramic bezel inlay. Made with pilots and frequent flyers in mind, this smartwatch offers dynamic flight mapping, a dedicated UTC hand for tracking time zones, aviation weather reporting, and more.
- MARQ Commander: Comes with a camo jacquard-woven band, micro-knurled buttons, and a matte black ceramic bezel inlay with UTC time markings. Includes features like night vision capabilities, stealth mode, Applied Ballistics solver, and more.
- MARQ Diver: As this model is meant for underwater use, it offers leakproof buttons and a 15mm microadjust strap. You’ll be able to dive up to 40 meters below the surface.
- MARQ Golfer: You can expect to have a jacquard-woven strap on this model. Meanwhile, the ceramic bezel inlay features an 18-hole indicator. Along with that, it includes golf-centric tools like Virtual Caddie, green contour data, and over 43,000 preloaded courses.
Although each model has its own unique twist, all models are made with Grade-5 titanium, a sapphire lens, and a 1.4-inch borderless AMOLED screen. Garmin also claims that these smartwatches will give you up to 18 days of battery life while in smartwatch mode.
You can place an order for the MARQ 3 series starting today on Garmin’s website. As these are luxury smartwatches, don’t expect them to be cheap. You’ll pay $2,500 for the Athlete, $2,700 for the Adventurer, $2,800 for the Golfer, and $3,100 for the remaining models.
