GE Lighting adds a smart thermostat, cameras, and more to its Cync products
- GE Lighting has announced many new smart home devices as part of its Cync product line at CES 2022, including the first Cync thermostat.
- There are also new security cameras and smart bulbs.
- All of the products should be available to order in the first quarter of 2022.
As part of CES 2022, GE Lighting is adding new smart home devices to its Cync product lineup. You may remember that the Cync brand was first introduced a year ago as part of CES 2021. At that time, the company announced new smart bulbs and an indoor security camera.
Now, at CES 2022, GE is expanding the brand to include the first Cync thermostat as well as outdoor security cameras, and even more smart lighting devices.
Cync Smart Thermostat
Perhaps the biggest new product is the Cync Smart Thermostat (shown above). GE Lighting says it can be installed without the need for a common wire, which means it should work in almost every home.
It also has a large on-screen display for full control, or you can operate it remotely with the Cync mobile apps. It will cost $119 when it goes on sale in January.
In addition, you can buy Cync Smart Temperature Sensors for $29 each. They can connect with the smart thermostat to optimize the entire house’s temperature with one sensor, or you can place them in each room for even better temperature control.
Cync outdoor cameras
GE Lighting is also launching the Cync Outdoor Camera lineup. They will come in wireless battery versions for $129 each or in a wired version for $99.
Both cameras offer night vision features and a 1280p (2K-ish) resolution. You can also store footage from the cameras on an SD card or on a cloud server. There’s also a solar panel accessory that can be used to power the wireless version outside for $44. All of these devices will be ready to order in February, shortly after the Cync thermostat hits shelves.
New smart lighting
Of course, new smart bulbs are being launched by GE Lighting as well. They will come in a number of different designs and sizes, including globe and candelabra bulbs. They will also be available in all white light and in color models as well.

The new lights will go on sale in March 2022 with starting prices of $11. All of these devices can be controlled by the Cync mobile app, just like the Cync thermostat. It allows the lighting products to be customized for gaming, reading, meals, and more. The devices also have voice controls via Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant.
