You can buy the Gear VR at select Best Buy stores this Friday

About a hundred or so Best Buy stores will offer the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition for $199. Keep in mind this is the current model designed for the Galaxy Note 4, though we wouldn’t be too surprised if the Galaxy S6-optimized Gear VR variant makes it way to Best Buy in the coming month.

At the moment, the Gear VR is still a limited experience, with only a handful of apps designed to take advantage of it. That said, both Oculus and Samsung are devoted to expanding this experience, with efforts including a special app store for the VR and numerous upcoming games specifically optimized for the experience. Outside of games, there’s also a number of media apps that support Samsung’s virtual reality technology.
