Add Android Authority on Google:
TL;DR
  • Google is bringing Gemini to Google Sheets on iPhones, following its rollout on the web and Android.
  • You can ask Gemini questions about your spreadsheets, generate summaries, identify trends, and create charts.
  • The feature is rolling out to eligible Google Workspace and Google AI subscribers and could take up to 15 days to reach everyone.

Working with spreadsheets on a phone can be a pain, especially with hundreds of rows and columns. Google wants to make that experience less frustrating, and it’s now bringing Gemini to Google Sheets on iPhones. It is already available in Google Sheets on the web and, more recently, on Android.

With its arrival on iOS, you can now ask Gemini questions about your spreadsheets, get quick summaries, and even create charts without pulling out your laptop. For example, say you’re looking at a spreadsheet tracking your monthly expenses. Instead of reviewing every transaction yourself, you can ask Gemini where you’ve spent the most. Similarly, if you’re reviewing a report, you can ask it to highlight important trends or turn the numbers into a chart that’s easier to understand.

Getting started is simple, too. Open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app on your iPhone, tap the Gemini sparkle icon, and type your question. If you’re not sure what to ask, Google has included suggestions like “Summarize this table” and “Analyze for insights” to get you going.

There is one catch, though. The feature isn’t available to everyone. You’ll need an eligible Google Workspace subscription, including Business Starter, Standard, or Plus, or Enterprise Starter, Standard, or Plus. It’s also available to Google AI Pro for Education and subscribers to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra.

Google has already started rolling out Gemini in Sheets for iOS, although it could take up to 15 days to reach all eligible users. Once it’s available, the feature will be enabled by default, so you won’t need to change any settings.
