The Gionee S6 Pro arrives with full metal build and fingerprint scanner for $300
For all the S6 fans out there – you can now buy an S6 Pro. Only this is the Gionee S6 Pro we’re talking about, not a Galaxy S6 Pro. So what does a device with a name like the S6 Pro get you these days? Quite a lot for not much money, as a matter of fact, although not everyone will agree the specs warrant the use of the term “Pro”.

The most obvious thing to note is just how good – and familiar – the Gionee S6 Pro looks, with its metal build and fingerprint sensor. It pretty much looks like a Galaxy S6 up front and like a HUAWEI Mate 8 on the back. If you can get past the lack of originality, it’s a nice looking phone for the equivalent of $300 (¥1,999).

That price will also get you a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display, mid-range MediaTek Helio P10 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage with microSD expansion (in a hybrid dual-SIM tray).
The S6 Pro packs a 13 MP primary camera with PDAF and an 8 MP front-facing camera. There’s a 3,130 mAh battery, USB Type-C, Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and gold, silver or rose gold color options.
