As feature-packed as Samsung’s One UI already is, you can use Good Lock modules to get even more customization options for your phone. Modules like Home Up offer deep home screen customization, and you can even back up your settings and restore them later. However, there appears to be an issue with Home Up’s backup option that prevents users from restoring their settings. If you’re facing a similar issue on your Galaxy phone, you can rest easy knowing Samsung is already working on a fix.

According to a post on the Samsung Community forums, the Home Up module’s backup feature doesn’t work properly if you’ve selected custom colors for folder labels. A Samsung Community moderator shared this information after a user reported that Home Up keeps deleting their backup file and telling them it’s “broken.”

As a short-term fix, users can reset folder label colors to their default settings. This should allow them to safely back up their Home Up settings. The moderator also said that Samsung’s development team is investigating the issue. However, fixing it reportedly requires changes to the software’s underlying code. As a result, the issue is scheduled to be resolved in a future software update.

The post doesn’t provide an update timeline, so there’s no way to know when Samsung might roll out a fix. However, if you’re still having issues with Home Up’s backup system after reverting your folder label colors to their default settings, you can report the error to Samsung using the Samsung Members app.
