Google Calendar version 5.6.2 finally introduces a 'month' widget
Google Calender has been updated to version 5.6.2 and with it comes a month-view widget. The new re-sizable widget provides a look at an entire month’s worth of schedules and appointments on a single home screen, with space left for other apps.
The widget looks essentially the same as the month tab found inside the app but adds arrows at the top right allowing you to jump four weeks forward or backward. A full calendar month is always shown, however, the amount of information visible will depend on the size of the widget itself.
Should you opt for a smaller widget, for example, only days with a single item will be clearly visible, while days with multiple items on the agenda will display a ‘more’ (three dots) icon. To see what’s happening on those days you will need to click through to the app proper.
It’s an update that will have many shrugging their shoulders though a few users will no doubt appreciate the new widget, the likes of which could already be found in a number of common calendar apps.
