Google will hold its Cloud Next 2018 conference from July 23-27
In addition to its annual I/O conference, Google also offers other, smaller events for developers to attend that target specific products and services. Today, the company announced that the 2018 edition of its Google Cloud Next conference will be held from July 23-27. The event itself will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, which is where this year’s Google Cloud Next was also held.
Google Cloud Next 2017 was actually held March 8-10, but the 2018 edition is happening over four months later in the new year and will add two more days of sessions and events compared to this year’s event. Google did not state why they are switching the time period for the 2018 edition in its announcement, nor why the company is expanding the conference from three days to five.
As with previous editions, developers who attend Google Cloud Next 2018 will be able to connect with company employees and attend hundreds of sessions, code labs, demos, and hands-on training with the company’s cloud products and services. While the actual registration for the event won’t happen until sometime in March 2018, Google is asking for outside speakers to submit proposals for sessions that might be selected for the event. Those proposal applications are being accepted from now until January 26.
