Google is making food delivery easier in Search, Assistant, and even Maps
If you find yourself ordering food delivery quite often, we’ve got some good news: Google is about to make things a whole lot easier for you. Starting now, you can order food delivery right through various Google products, including Search, Assistant, and even Maps.
So far, Google has partnered with a handful of food delivery providers, including DoorDash, Postmates, Delivery.com, Slice, and ChowNow. Conspicuously missing from the list are GrubHub, Seamless, Uber Eats, and other popular services.
However, Google does say that more integrations are on the way, pointing to Zuppler and others as “coming soon.”
To get started ordering your next food delivery through Google, just perform a search for a nearby restaurant or type of cuisine using Google Search or Google Maps. You should see “Order Online” buttons within those searches which will connect you to a food delivery service. Depending on the service, you can even complete your purchase using Google Pay, which would result in a completely seamless transaction.
To take things even further, you can use voice commands within Google Assistant to place your order. Just say, “Hey Google, order food from…” and then say the name of a particular restaurant. Obviously, the restaurant will have to be partnered with one of the applicable delivery services for the voice command to work.
Once you’ve successfully placed an order, you can easily re-order that meal again in the future. Just say, “OK Google, reorder food from [restaurant].”
If you’re thinking about ordering food delivery soon, give this method a shot!
