Google I/O 2019 will have a new topic that's all about gaming
Google I/O 2019 is a few months away, but Google has already released a teaser page for what’s to come at the search giant’s annual developers event. If you check out the Google I/O events site, you can see for yourself what’s on the way.
At I/O, Google organizes all keynotes and sessions into topics. This year, there’s a new topic called Gaming, which joins at least seven other topics, six of which were featured at Google I/O 2018 (Dart is also a new topic this year). The full list of known topics are below:
- Gaming
- Android
- Flutter
- Web
- Cloud
- Dart
- Design
- Machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI)
Last year, the Android topic was listed as “Android & Play,” but this year Android gets its own topic and Gaming gets its own as well.
At Google I/O 2018, there were 19 topics altogether, including AR & VR, Nest, Open Source, IoT, Location & Maps, and more. It’s unclear if those topics will make a return this year, as Google has yet to reveal the full I/O 2019 schedule. That full schedule will launch on March 27.
The addition of a Gaming topic is not unexpected, considering Google will likely launch its first fully-fledged gaming hardware product tomorrow at the Game Developers Conference 2019. For more info on that event and what to expect, click the link below.
