Registration for Google I/O 2018 might be closed, but if you got your name in the hat in time, Google started notifying raffle winners this morning.
If you were selected to attend Google’s yearly developer conference, check your inbox for an email similar to the one posted below. Spotted by Android Police, The email states that your credit card was charged and provides a link to view your I/O profile and see your ticket details.
There might be another wave of tickets, so do not fret if you did not receive an email. Also, folks might cancel due to the high cost of the general admission ticket, so there is still hope.
As in previous years, I/O uses a raffle system. Google picks folks at random, so just because you registered for Google’s developer conference does not mean you are guaranteed a ticket.
For 2018, general admission and academic tickets go for $1,150 and $375, respectively. Interestingly, there is a new “Community partners” tier at $750 that was not publicly visible during the registration process. The new tier was likely reserved for pre-selected attendees.
Google I/O 2018 is an outdoor affair that goes from May 8 through May 10 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Normally a concert venue, the Shoreline Amphitheatre will look nothing like it does now and feature large tents with demo stations and more.
