Google News and Weather app adds more news headlines to check out

If you are an online news junkie, you know that the phrase, “There is too much news” is not true at all. Today, Google is rolling out an update to its News and Weather app in the Google Play Store, that will actually cram in even more news headlines to check out for all of those folks who need to feed their news addiction.

The app additions comes in the form of a browse-friendly stream of stories that can be seen in the News and Weather app under the label “More Headlines”. They have been added to the Business, Tech, Entertainment, Sports and other news sections of the app, and load the extra headlines when you scroll down. Google says this update will add over 200 more headlines to check out and tap in the app.

The app also supports reading stories in Google’s AMP format, which allows online publishers to offer versions of their articles specifically for smaller mobile screens. The update should be available for both the Android and iOS versions of Google News and Weather in the coming days. What are your opinions on this new update to the app?
