Google Photos has added a comments section to shared albums
Shared albums in Google Photos now feature a comments section as well as improved smart suggestions for which photos to include. The update is available for both Android and iOS and will allows those shared into the album to comment on individual images as well as the album as a whole.
When creating a shared album, the new smart suggestions feature will automatically recommend the best photos from your camera roll. You can either choose to add all the recommended pics or curate the list yourself. The smart suggestions feature will also work for those shared into the album with permission to add photos to it.
The features are available in Google Photos for Android v1.20 and Google Photos for iOS v1.10, which are rolling out now. This isn’t the first commenting feature addition we’ve seen from Google today either, with YouTube getting a native sharing feature with a new private comments section. It looks like Google is going all out on keeping people in its apps and on its services and knows that a comments section is a great way to prolong interaction.
