Today at the Google I/O event, Google announced that their popular photo sharing/storing service Google Photos now has 200 million monthly active users.

The app is noteworthy for its ability to recognize the content of pictures, allowing it to identify not just that a picture is of a dog, but that a picture is of a specific breed of dog. As a result, Google Photos has automatically tagged over 2 trillion labels to-date. This is after a year’s worth of photographic input from users, since the app formally launched in May 2015, becoming distinct from the feature available in Google+.
