Google Photos update brings search improvements, customizable movies and more
Google Photos for Android is getting quite the update today. Just announced on Google+, the big version 1.19 update brings a new search bar, customizable movies, additional photo management options and more. Let’s jump in and see what’s new!
The biggest change you’ll notice is the addition of a brand new search bar. Previous versions of the app featured a floating action button (FAB) that would bring you to a dedicated search page. Now there’s a persistent search bar at the top of your gallery, allowing you to search much quicker than you could in the past.
The update also brings with it the ability to customize automatically created movies. Now you’ll be able to add your own music, photos and videos to the movies Google Photos creates for you.
Last but not least, Photos is getting a few improvements to help with media management. You can now rename or delete entire device folders, and also manage your photos and videos on SD cards by adding new folders, copying and moving photos.
The version 1.19 update is live in the Play Store and should be coming to iOS sometime soon.
