Best Buy puts Pixel 3a XL on display ahead of Google announcement
Google is tipped to launch two new phones next Tuesday, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. Though Google itself has yet to confirm them, a Best Buy store has eliminated almost any doubt the phones are coming soon by showing off some of the goods in store.
Android Police received photos of Pixel 3a XL retail boxes said to have been taken at a Best Buy store in Springfield, Ohio. They reveal a couple of Pixel 3a XLs in what seems to be the Clearly White colorway, while the Just Black model is confirmed by a separate photo of the packaging. This packaging indicates the phone is coming with a 6-inch screen and 64GB of internal storage. It may be the only 3a XL variant released.
Seeing the Pixel 3a XL retail packaging is one thing, but the more significant implication is that it’s coming soon. Android manufacturers sometimes leave significant gaps between device announcements and their releases — like the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the LG V50 ThinQ, both of which we first heard about in February (though screen problems have held the Galaxy Fold up even further).
Based on this leak, though, it looks like the Pixel 3a and 3a XL may go on sale as soon as next week. As for how much they’ll cost, we heard yesterday speculation that the smaller Pixel 3a model could be priced at $399, while the Pixel 3a XL could cost $479.
We should have more on the Pixel 3a series next week. Until then, find out what else we’ve heard about them in our Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL rumors page at the link.
