Google Pixel 4 is getting a robust theme app: Here's how it works
The Google Pixel 4 leaks keep coming this month, and we’ve now even got a closer look at the phone’s wallpapers and theme app.
According to 9to5Google, the search company will debut a so-called Styles and Wallpapers app on the upcoming smartphone. The outlet says the utility is a redesign of the wallpaper picker function found on previous Pixel devices, but there’s more to it than choosing a background.
The Styles and Wallpapers app will apparently allow you to choose your font, icon design for the quick settings menu/status bar, and accent colors too. Check a few screenshots below:
This all comes together to deliver a pretty full-featured theme creation tool for Pixel phones. Users can also save the desired combination of wallpaper/font/icon design/accent colors in the Styles and Wallpapers app for later use.
9to5Google also uncovered the Pixel 4’s live wallpapers, noting that six out of nine wallpapers go dark too when system-wide dark mode is enabled. It’s also possible to adjust the speed of the animation, according to the “customize” tab. Check a few of these (albeit static) wallpapers below:
There’s clearly not much more to know about the Pixel 4 series ahead of its October 15 launch, but we can undoubtedly expect more leaks in the run-up to the event.
Confirmed features include Motion Sense hands-free gestures, 3D face unlock, and a dual rear camera setup. Leaked features include a Snapdragon 855 processor, better Night Sight photos, astrophotography capabilities, and a secondary telephoto rear camera.
