It's time to say goodbye to Google's best budget phone in years

The Pixel 4a's $350 price tag, great image quality, and three years of OS updates made it a top-notch budget phone.

TL;DR
  • The Google Pixel 4a has been delisted from the Google Store.
  • This comes after the phone was reportedly low on stock for months.

Google’s Pixel 4a was released in 2020 but remains arguably the best budget Pixel on the market. Unfortunately, it looks like Google has now stopped selling the phone for good.

9to5Google noticed that the Pixel 4a was delisted from the Google Store this week. This isn’t necessarily a complete surprise, as the outlet noted that this came after months of low stock.

The Pixel 4a still stands out as one of the company’s best budget phones. It offered a decent Snapdragon 730 chipset, doubled the storage to 128GB (compared to 64GB on the Pixel 3a), and was actually $50 cheaper than its predecessor ($350 versus the 3a’s $400 price tag).

Google’s phone also brings the usual perks, such as great image quality via the solitary rear camera, at least three years of OS updates, and unlimited ‘storage saver’ quality backups via Google Photos.

We hope Google offers a similarly priced Pixel in 2022, as last year’s Pixel 5a had a $450 launch price (making it $100 more expensive). But in the meantime, let’s pour one out for one of the best phones of 2020.
