New Pixel 6 Pro renders from reliable source are here, and there are surprises
- A very reliable leaker just launched some renders of the Google Pixel 6 Pro.
- The renders are a little different from the ones we saw last week.
- If these prove to be accurate, the Pixel 6 Pro could be a love letter to Pixel fans.
Last week, we were surprised to see a set of leaked renders for the upcoming slate of Pixel flagships. However, the source of those renders has an unreliable track record when it comes to leaks, so we were skeptical of their accuracy at the time.
Now, though, we have a set of CAD-based renders for the Google Pixel 6 Pro from none other than Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka @OnLeaks (via Digit.in). Hemmerstoffer is probably one of the most reliable smartphone leakers in the business, with an incredibly accurate track record. It is very likely that the Pixel 6 Pro will look quite similar to what we see here. Notably, they don’t differ too much from the originally leaked renders.
Excitingly, though, Hemmerstoffer’s renders show a bonafide flagship from Google with some exciting hardware features. Let’s get into it!
Google Pixel 6 Pro
First, let’s get the nitty-gritty details out of the way. According to these leaks, the Google Pixel 6 Pro could have dimensions of 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm. At its thickest point with the camera bump included, it could be 11.5mm thick. The display would very likely be a curved OLED panel with a 6.67-inch diagonal measurement.
Hemmerstoffer’s renders also appear to confirm multiple rumors. The selfie camera cutout could be centered (a first for a Pixel), there could be an in-display fingerprint sensor (another first), and the rear camera module could have three lenses (once again, a first). Notably, one of the cameras appears to be a periscope lens, which would be yet another first.
According to Hemmerstoffer, the phone could also support wireless charging and have dual stereo speakers.
What would you pay for a Google Pixel 6 Pro?
Unfortunately, renders such as these can’t give us any hints on what’s going on inside the phone. However, we do have reliable rumors to suggest that it could be powered by Google’s first attempt at in-house silicon, codenamed “Whitechapel.” However, that news broke before we learned that there could be a Google Pixel 6 Pro rather than just a Pixel 6. It’s possible this Pro model could have traditional flagship silicon (possibly the Snapdragon 888), while the vanilla model would have the Google-branded processor. Of course, that’s just a possibility and we have no evidence to support that.
Regardless, with a triple-lens system on the rear with a periscope lens, wireless charging, and a sure-to-be-excellent display, the Pixel 6 Pro could end up being a competitor to something like a Galaxy S21 Ultra. That’s a $1,200 phone, which does suggest the Pixel 6 Pro could be pricey. What do you think? Hit up our poll above!
