We doubt we'll see a Pixel Fold this year, but this concept art makes us smile
- A designer on YouTube going by the name Waqar Khan produced a concept video of a Google Pixel Fold.
- This is not the “real” foldable phone from Google (which may or may not exist) but just an idea of what it could look like.
- The designer imagines a hybrid between a Galaxy Z Fold and the confirmed Pixel 6 designs.
We’ve heard plenty of rumors surrounding the idea of Google launching a foldable phone this year. We can’t be for sure it’s going to happen, but we will say this: Google is terrible at keeping secrets. The chances are high that if the company had a foldable phone landing this year, we would have already seen it.

Regardless of the validity of a Google Pixel Fold landing in 2021, it’s fun to imagine what it could look like. That’s exactly what YouTuber Waqar Khan did. The designer uploaded a video depicting imaginary renders of what a Google-branded foldable phone could look like. The video is mirrored above.
Khan doesn’t venture too far into left field with the imaginary design. Essentially, this concept foldable looks like someone mashed together a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and a Google Pixel 6 Pro. It looks a little clunky but the idea is solid.
If you want to take a closer look, Khan also uploaded some 8K render images, which you can see here.
We expect Google to launch the Pixel 6 series on October 19, or somewhere thereabouts. As we said, it is highly unlikely we’d also see a Google Pixel Fold at that event, but we suppose anything is possible.
