Report: Pixel Watch battery life likely won't be too impressive
- The Google Pixel Watch could feature a 300mAh battery.
- The watch should last a full day, although it’s unclear what features were active in testing.
Users wanting multi-day battery life from the upcoming Google Pixel Watch may be in for a disappointment.
The Pixel Watch was unveiled at Google I/O, after years of rumors and anticipation. One of the main questions was what kind of battery the wearable would have and how long it would last. According to 9to5Google’s source, the new watch will feature a 300mAh battery that will last up to one day on a full charge.
While some users were no doubt hoping for a longer runtime, a single day of use is in line with similar smartwatches from Samsung and Fossil.

What 9to5Google’s source does not reveal is the conditions under which the Pixel Watch battery life was tested. For example, it’s unclear if the always-on display was active or whether sleep tracking was used. It’s also unclear if a full day’s charge means it can be used all day and then track the user’s sleep through the night without being recharged.
Given Google’s late entry into the wearable market, it will need to do something to set itself apart from established players. Since battery life doesn’t appear to be the differentiating feature, only time will tell if Google has something else up its sleeve.
