Google suspiciously makes Pixel Watch bezels smaller in new video
- Google posted a Pixel Watch video last week suggesting that the smartwatch could have thick bezels.
- The company seems to have edited the video now, showing much smaller bezels.
Last week, Google shared a short video showcasing the design of the Pixel Watch from all angles. While many thought the smartwatch looked slick, several people on Reddit commented about its large bezels.
In the video Google posted, the watch faces don’t appear to stretch all the way to the edge of the display. This sparked rumors about the Pixel Watch possibly having very thick bezels and limited real estate for displaying information. Strangely, Google seems to be showing a different version of the same teaser video in Taiwan.
As reported by Droid Life, a Reddit user spotted the same Pixel Watch campaign on Google Taiwan’s YouTube channel. The video was posted yesterday and shows comparatively smaller bezels than what we saw in the previous clip. Folks at Droid Life also created a comparative GIF to chalk out the obvious difference in the bezel size of the Pixel Watch shown in the two videos.
Clearly, Google has edited the new ad to make the bezels on the Pixel Watch look smaller. It’s possible the company simply fixed an incorrect representation from the previous video, in which case it’s good news for those looking forward to buying the Pixel Watch. The alternate theory is that Google is trying to misrepresent the bezel size on the smartwatch before it goes official. It’s impossible to pinpoint the real reason for this change in the new teaser video. Guess we’ll find out soon enough as the Pixel Watch is set to launch on October 6.
