A flood of Pixel Watch material just leaked everything you want to know
- Marketing material for the Pixel Watch has leaked through multiple reliable sources.
- Thanks to the leaks, we now know most of the key specs and features of Google’s first smartwatch.
We’re just three days away from the Pixel Watch launch, and the latest barrage of leaks has now given us plenty to chew on before the wearable arrives.
Promotional material for Google’s first smartwatch just appeared all over the place. We’ve got a leaked video ad from tipster SnoopyTech that gives away many of the key features of the Pixel Watch. Thanks to OnLeaks, aka Steve Hemmerstoffer and Slashleaks, we also have a set of promo images of the device. Additionally, Esper Technical Editor Mishaal Rahman has also outed screenshots that show various integrations on the ticker.
So what’s the latest on the Pixel Watch? Let’s start with what we saw in the advertisement.

The 30-second commercial tells us that the Google Pixel Watch will feature heart rate tracking, Active Zone minutes, Google Maps support, the ability to make card payments through Google Wallet, and the option to take calls and use the Google Assistant to control smart home devices.

The fine print in the ad also tells us that users will need a phone that runs Android 8 or a newer version to be able to use the Pixel Watch.
Interestingly, having a Google account is mandatory, but you might also need a Fitbit account for some features. This seems a bit ill thought out since Fitbit will retire its accounts over the next few years. On that note, the advertisement also mentions support for “Health by Fitbit,” which may be what Google calls the integration on the device.
Meanwhile, leaked images over at Slashleaks show the Pixel Watch striking a pose with a number of bands. Watch faces show tracking and functional capabilities like heart rate measurement, ECG, Fast Pair, and more. The leak also mentions other Pixel Watch details like 5ATM water resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass covering, emergency mode calling, and a bundled six-month membership to Fitbit Premium.
You can expect a free six-month membership to Fitbit Premium with the Pixel Watch.
Lastly, Rahman’s Pixel Watch leak gives us a good look at Google Photos integration. It looks like you can use your photos as wallpapers on the smartwatch. We also get a closer look at smart home controls on the device.
Here are official screenshots of the Google Photos, Google Home, and Personal Safety apps on Wear OS, taken from their Play Store listings. These apps will presumably launch alongside the Pixel Watch next week.— Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) October 1, 2022
